5 in 1 mad dog Mike!

September 21, 2015

We booked about two days before at a small stand near Fat Tuesday's on the strip, we paid $429 per person all tax and transfers included for the Sky Dancer Tour. On the 20th of September we were collected at 11am at the valet section of our hotel in a Mercedes sprinter, which had been converted with comfy leather chairs with loads of leg room and iPads connected to Wi-Fi, for a short 20-30 minute transfer to Boulder City with water and mints. Arrived at the airport/hanger/lounge where more water was available and were weighed and put into safety vest belts. We had MAD DOG MIKE who has over 6,000 flying hours. I was slightly worried initially, but soon put at ease. We were in the front with Mad Dog and what a wonderful flight over Hoover dam, extinct volcano, fortification hill, Indian pass, black canyon, and Lake Mead. During the flight 5 in 1 Mad Dog Mike became a tour guide with a wealth of information. He was a comedian and an amazing DJ. We landed near the Colorado River where Mike continues to impress with his waiter skills. He served up a premade picnic style snack, with carrots and dip, crackers, cheese, grapes, and a muffin. A Large selection of beverages were available to choose from. He was the host with the most with his photography skills! Second to none. Flight back was smooth and comfortable, great A/C with the most incredible views!! Can't thank Serenity enough for this experience and can't wait to come back and do it again - just wish it was longer!!

If like us you are almost pulling your hair out wondering which company to do a tour with - rest assured this company is great! We were picked up from our hotel (in a beautiful Mercedes mini bus mind you which even had iPads attached to each seat!), driven say 20 minutes, briefed on safety etc, given drinks (coffee, water) & biscotti (in comfortable air conditioned office at the airport) & then off we went up into the sky!!!! There were 3 helicopters leaving together.... The flight was just amazing!!!! We went over Hoover Dam & Lake Mead, which are not far away, and then on for say another 20 mins to reach the canyon. Flying down into the canyon was one of the best sights I've ever seen!!! We landed in a really good spot (you could see other chopper companies & they didn't seem to have as good a spot as ours) & took photos & had a really yummy decent champagne & snack break. You could basically choose champagne, beers, juice, soft drinks etc). Anyway, from the picnic sight we had an AMAZING view & took photos & stood in awe & amazement - & felt sorry to leave - indeed! We were probably there for between 30-45 mins. The flight back was just as good as the flight in. We had a pilot called Mad Dog (Mike Davis) he was a true character & filled us in on lots of info from the land formation and topography, to the cattle stations, & the roads & vegetation we flew over, so it was a great commentary! I felt completely safe with this company. The price was comparable to the other companies we looked at, & cheaper than a couple of the bigger companies. All 3 pilots here have more than 10 years’ experience each. The company is family owned, thus the 3 choppers. We left at 6:15am & got back to the hotel at 10:30am, so plenty of time to do stuff the rest of the day! It was AWESOME - I’d do it with Serenity again in a heartbeat & we are so pleased we picked them!!! Just do it!

This was a birthday vacation to Vegas and the sunset dinner with Serenity in the Grand Canyon was the highlight of the trip. Totally outstanding service, from the pre-trip communications and the on-time pick up in the luxury van with personal iPads, I cannot recommend these guys highly enough. All the staff were so helpful and knowledgeable, Matt was great at getting us there and back to the hotel, and the guys and girls at the facility were great. Flight itself was a once in a lifetime experience and Mike 'Mad Dog' Davis was a first class pilot with funny and informative commentary. Even the dinner was good, which to be honest we didn't have high expectations on considering the logistics involved in getting a hot dinner and cold champagne to the floor of the canyon but I cannot fault it at all. Might seem pricey but worth every dollar, fantastic experience, great customer focus and wonderful staff!!

Breathtaking Views and a Delicious Meal

September 17, 2015

We were picked up exactly on time from our hotel in a black Mercedes van and offered complementary water and mints on the way to their helipad in Boulder City. There, we were greeted by the friendly staff and weighed before being offered complementary beverages. After a brief wait, we were lined up in order of how we would be seated and led out to the helicopter. After having our photo taken next to the helicopter we were shown into our seats and given some headphones through which the cheerful pilot, Jim, greeted us and explained everything we needed to know before taking off. Once in the air, he gave an informative and jovial commentary as we flew past the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead towards the canyon itself. The flight lasted about 35 minutes and Jim kept us entertained throughout while we absorbed the breathtaking views visible outside. After landing in the canyon at their designated landing zone, Jim told us we were free to walk around and take photos while he prepared our meal and drinks. The canyon was amazing and it was hard to grasp just how huge it is. We took some photos and saw a lizard or two skitter under some rocks when Jim let us know that our meal was ready. I can't speak for the other two meal options but the chicken stuffed with ham and baked potato was absolutely delicious. I expected mediocre food but what we got was something worthy of being served in a decent restaurant. After we were finished eating, Jim began packing everything away while we finished our champagne and took in our magnificent surroundings. Once back in the helicopter, Jim again resumed his entertaining commentary which was just as good on the way back and the fantastic view of the sun setting in the distance topped off what was already a fantastic tour. Shortly after, we touched back down in Boulder City and led back into their waiting area where we were again offered beverages and shown the photo that was taken at the start of the tour as well as a video of the whole thing on a USB memory stick which could be purchased for $50. They didn't keep us waiting long before driving us back to Vegas and dropping us off at our hotel. Serenity Helicopters is a truly great company and the only problem I encountered was that they initially charged me for an extra seat which was not required but once they were made aware I was promptly refunded the extra charge and given a sincere apology. If you're looking for a tour of the canyon while in Vegas, this is the company to go with for sure.

Serenity Helicopter Tour of Grand Canyon: Spectacular

September 17, 2015

My wife and I enjoyed our Helicopter Tour with Serenity. Pickup at Hotel was on time and very comfortable (Mercedes Van). The van ride is a small group. No cattle car with 40 people in it. The check in at the facility was seamless. The waiting area is very well done where we got coffee and water. The helicopter tour given by Mike was amazing. He did a great job of explaining the history of Lake Mead, Hoover Dam, and Grand Canyon. He was knowledgeable and friendly. It also helped that there were also two couples from Australia on the trip. We highly recommend using Serenity. It also is the best way to see the Grand Canyon.

Highlight of our Vegas trip

September 16, 2015

Had an amazing trip from start to finish. Picked up from hotel by the lovely Matt in a luxury motor. Driven 30 mins to Boulder City to Helipad. We had the wonderful Mad Dog as our pilot! So knowledgeable and funny. Enjoyed a champagne lunch in the Canyon. Great value, brilliant trip, thoroughly recommend.

You have to do this!

September 16, 2015

We booked the VIP canyon dinner experience and the whole thing was perfect. I was called the day before to confirm it all, really friendly guys. Then Garland collected us in a first class vehicle, he is a really nice guy that couldn't do enough for us all. Our pilot Cole was a top bloke who had so much time for us all. The whole experience was something we will never forget. Can't recommend Serenity enough. If you’re in Las Vegas then you should be calling these guys!

Amazing experience!

September 15, 2015

I researched nearly all helicopter companies in the area and decided to go with this one because I wanted to make the most of our day and not hassle with lines and the nickel and dime fees that others complained about with the other larger helicopter companies in the area. This was a first class experience from pick-up to drop-off. The ride in the Mercedes limo bus was more than comfortable: beverages offered, iPads for each passenger, polite and courteous driver...just absolutely accommodating! The airport facility was very relaxing and quaint. More beverages were offered as we waited for our flight. Our pilot, "Mad Dog" Mike was exceptional; he was personable, funny and really made the experience so much fun. His knowledge of the history and terrain, as well as his flight experience and passion for flying, were impressive to say the least. This is a must-do experience while in Vegas. If you are going to do it, do it right. This was the perfect gift for my husband's birthday - he absolutely thought it was the highlight of our Vegas trip this year. I highly recommend this helicopter company.
